from BBCnews: US Republican presidential hopeful John McCain has picked Sarah Palin, the female governor of Alaska, as his surprise running mate.
When I read the news, my first reaction was: “WHO?” A thread was started on plurk about the team up and a couple of “men” were being pigs saying Palin’s a MILF. Yes, we want a MILF for our VP. I have nothing against women running for an Executive (Branch) position but I would like someone who is at least under my radar. Someone who I feel can come out to the World and represent us with confidence and experience.
72 year old McCain introduced 44 year old Palin as someone who “understands working people”.
The Reps needed someone who’s approachable by commoners so McCain doesn’t have to deal with us. hehe. Yes that must be it. I believe it’s an act of desperation. Trying to get the female vote. I’m not saying all women will now be voting for the McCain ticket but let’s be realistic here, there are a lot of people who don’t care for researching before voting. They like the face, the charm, the race, and now it’s maybe about the gender.
